STATE TICKET INFORMATION

STATE QUALIFIERS: The OSHAA allows each qualifying swimmer/diver to pre-order two all session passes. The price of each pass is $24. To secure your passes, Coach Brower must have a check made payable to “Saint Xavier High School” no later than Monday, February 18, 2002. If you do not need to order one or both of your allotted passes—please don’t! The coaches wish to secure passes for their family members as well, and they may only order the ones not needed by you.

NON-QUALIFIERS: There are parents working on securing additional passes from other teams that do not use up their quota. It is also possible that passes will be available for sale in Canton on the Thursday evening prior to competition. Passes are always tight, but with diligence those needing passes have always gotten them. For the past two years we have had enough passes for the requests received but we cannot guarantee passes until they are able to be purchased by the coaches in Canton. DO NOT email coaches regarding passes!

All non-qualifiers interested in passes must put $24 cash (no checks) in an envelope marked with the swimmer’s name, for each ticket book ordered.
If you are requesting more than one ticket you must use a separate envelope for each ticket book requested and rubber band all your envelopes together. (For example: 2 books, 2 envelopes). Deliver the envelopes to Barb Hausladen
by the end of school on Wednesday, February 13, 2002.

All passes (both state qualifier parents and non-qualifier pass orders) can be picked up from the Janszens or the Goettkes at the Holiday Inn lobby from 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Thursday evening or in line at the pool on Friday morning starting at 5:30 a.m. If you are not arriving until Friday p.m. please notify the Janszens (825-0120) or the Goettkes (248-0175) of this to make other arrangements for pick up. In Canton call Goettkes’ cell phone: 513-309-0021.

HELP: If you know swimmers or coaches from other teams who may be able to secure passes for you, please have them do so. Saint Xavier is unique in that we bring a large fan base to the meet. The more resources we are able to use the better.

NOTE ALL NON-QUALIFIER TICKET REQUESTS: You will be either picking up a ticket book or the cash you turned in to Barb Hausladen if no tickets were available for purchase. If you are given money back, it will be up to you to possibly purchase a ticket book from someone in line on Friday or Saturday morning.

NOTE TO ALL TICKET HOLDERS: If your tickets have not been claimed by 7:00 a.m. Friday, they will be sold unless you have made other arrangements with the Janszens or the Goettkes for pick up late Friday or early Saturday a.m. in line. Any unclaimed tickets held till Saturday must be claimed by 6:30 a.m. or they will be left at will call under the name of the swimmer under St X HS.

St. Xavier Cheering Section

How do we get a seat and form a St. X cheering Section inside?? Last year some brave St. X parents camped out in line starting at 1:00 a.m. on Friday for prelims. Other parents joined them by 3:00 a.m., with most parents in line by 5:30 a.m. Immediately after prelims parents got in line for finals (about noon). Some teams sent people out to get in line before prelims were over. This year, it is believed the line will begin forming sometime between midnight and 4:00
a.m. on Friday. It will be absolutely necessary for EVERYONE holding a ticket to wait his or her turn in line in order to have a seat. The earlier you are in line the better chance you have of being a part of the St. X cheering section. PLEASE TAKE NOTE: It may be IMPOSSIBLE to save any seats this year! STUDENTS – please take note of this! The same format and timeline applies for Saturday prelims and finals.

Friday: 2/22 – Doors open at 7:00 a.m./Prelims begin at 9:30 a.m.—- Doors Open: 4:00 p.m./Finals Begin 6:00p.m. The building is closed between 1:30p.m. and 4:00p.m.

Saturday: 2/23 – Doors open same time as Friday.

BRING: blankets, sleeping bags, chairs, umbrellas, etc. Dress according to the weather. I’m sure there will be volunteers for food runs!

Remember, part of the fun is the socializing while waiting in line!!! See you in Canton!!
